How It Started
The BBQ Place was founded in 2010 by Michelin-trained chef Drogo Montagu. After facing a disabling illness, he set out to make high-quality restaurant ingredients accessible to everyone cooking at home. Having worked in professional kitchens across Europe, he developed a deep appreciation for exceptional produce and the role it plays in great cooking.
What began as a one-man operation delivering ingredients by bike around London has grown into a dedicated team operating from New Covent Garden Market. Today, we supply more than 2,000 products to customers across the UK and internationally, while continuing to discover new ingredients that inspire creativity in the kitchen.
Where We’re Based
We operate from New Covent Garden Market, at the heart of London’s restaurant supply network. This location gives us direct access to fresh seasonal produce arriving daily from leading European markets including Rungis and Milan.
Being close to our suppliers allows us to maintain strong relationships, ensure consistent quality, and select the very best products available.
